Moorestown is an affluent suburb of the bustling city of Philadelphia located just a few miles from the New Jersey-Pennsylvania border. In the past, the township has attracted a lot of attention due to its strict restrictions concerning the sale of liquor. However, what most people don’t know is that Moorestown is more than just a family-friendly residential enclave: the community has a very rich history and a wealth of attractions that make it a great place for weekend getaways. Easter Egg Hunt

Every year, hundreds of children and their families drive down to the Jeff Young Memorial Park to celebrate one of Moorestown’s oldest traditions- the Easter Egg Hunt. Widely considered one of the top annual events in the township, the Easter Egg Hunt has been part of the community for over 8 decades and continues to offer a great selection of family-friendly activities. Apart from the Easter Egg Hunt, there are also face painting children’s crafts and a photo session with the Easter Bunny.

Moorestown Food Truck Festival 

First celebrated in 2018, the Moorestown Food Truck Festival offers foodies a chance to taste the best cuisines South Jersey has to offer. With live music, discounted shopping, al fresco dining, and dozens of food trucks, the Moorestown Food Truck Festival is not to be missed.

Moorestown Kayak/Paddle Board Race

Also celebrated for the first time in 2018, the paddleboard race is a one of a kind family event that attracts over 1000 attendees every year. The event takes place at Strawbridge Lake and is headlined by several water racing events featuring non-motorized vessels. Other highlights include live music from local bands, a beer garden, food trucks, silent auctions, and vendors of all kinds! Racing vessels are available on a rental basis.

Holiday tree lighting and celebration

Just like most other communities across the United States, Moorestown, NJ,  residents usher in the holiday season in style through the annual tree lighting and holiday celebration. Hosted by the Moorestown Community House, the event features a giant brightly decorated Christmas tree, musical entertainment, and free treats.

Other notable local events include Moorestown Day, Scott Coffee Moorestown Rotary 8K, Pasta Fest, and July 4th celebrations. The nearby City of Philadelphia also offers a long list of world-class annual events just waiting to be explored.
